Golden Ten Data reported on March 19 that Japanese stock market investors will closely monitor the meeting between Trump and Sanae Takaichi in Washington on Thursday, seeking signals of possible agreements in economic and military cooperation. Any details regarding Japan's proposed $550 billion government-supported investment plan in the US could impact the energy and shipbuilding sectors, while defense stocks may also experience volatility amid the Middle East crisis. Piergaetano Iaccarino, Head of Equity Solutions at Amundi Ireland, stated: "Obviously, this summit is very important. It confirms the strategic alignment between Japan and the United States, especially as economic security and industrial policy become increasingly significant." On Wednesday, NHK reported that Japan and the US are finalizing coordination to announce a second round of potential investment projects. The two sides will issue a joint statement outlining three projects, including a next-generation nuclear reactor in Tennessee, as well as natural gas power facilities in Pennsylvania and Texas.
