According to sources, the Alky Unit is currently being restarted, while the Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCC) has returned to normal operating status. **Industry Background and Impact Assessment** This refinery is owned by Monroe Energy, a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, and serves as one of the key fuel supply sources on the U.S. East Coast. The malfunction occurred just before the summer driving peak, raising market concerns about gasoline supply. Unexpected shutdowns of refinery units typically lead to regional fuel supply shortages, which in turn drive up gasoline and diesel prices. However, since the Alky Unit and FCC have quickly resumed operations, the actual impact on the refined oil market is expected to be limited. **Unit Functions and Market Connection** The Alky Unit is primarily used to produce high-octane gasoline components, while the FCC is the core equipment for converting heavy oil into lighter products such as gasoline and diesel. The operational stability of these two units directly affects the refinery's gasoline production efficiency. Currently, U.S. refineries are operating at seasonally high utilization rates, and any unplanned shutdowns could amplify market volatility. **Recent Industry Operating Trends** Recently, several U.S. refineries have faced challenges such as equipment maintenance or unexpected shutdowns, and with the summer demand peak approaching, refining margins remain strong. The market is closely monitoring the operational status of refinery units, as any signs of supply disruption could trigger short-term fluctuations in gasoline futures prices. The rapid recovery of Monroe refinery has, to some extent, eased market concerns about supply shortages.
