Digital Chamber, Money20/20 partner to broaden crypto policy talks as Congress weighs legislation
The Digital Chamber and international financial technology platform Money20/20 are partnering to expand policy discussions — including roundtables and podcasts — as lawmakers in Washington work on legislation to regulate the crypto industry.
That partnership was announced on Tuesday at the start of The Digital Chamber's annual DC Blockchain Summit in Washington, D.C. Lawmakers from Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott to key regulators such as Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins and Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Michael Selig will be speaking at the conference on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"The Digital Chamber’s mission has always been to connect policymakers with the innovators building the future of financial technology," said the Digital Chamber CEO Cody Carbone. "Partnering with Money20/20 strengthens that mission by bringing policymakers, fintech leaders, and digital asset builders into the same room."
The Digital Chamber and Money20/20's partnership comes as lawmakers in Washington are working on legislation that would regulate the crypto industry as a whole, addressing decentralized finance, exchanges, and more, after passing a law last year to regulate stablecoins. The House passed its version of the bill last summer, but the Senate has hit several roadblocks over the past few months, including how to treat DeFi and stablecoin rewards.
The new partnership will also support a Money20/20 global effort called
"Money20/20 is where the most trusted institutions in finance meet the innovators building what comes next," said Scarlett Sieber, chief strategy and growth officer of Money20/20, in a statement. "Business gets done here at an unprecedented pace because of the seniority and diversity of our audience, bringing together global banks, fintech leaders, payment networks, and digital asset pioneers under one roof. That is why we are genuinely excited to partner with The Digital Chamber."
