PayrollGuard Introduces Private On-Chain Salary Payments
A new blockchain-based payroll solution, PayrollGuard, is aiming to solve one of crypto’s most persistent challenges: how to process salaries on-chain without exposing sensitive financial data.
Built using Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), the application enables companies to execute payroll transactions while keeping employee compensation confidential.

Private on-chain salary payments allow companies to pay employees in crypto while keeping sensitive information, such as salaries and wallet balances, hidden. This is done using tools such as custodial wallets, zero-knowledge proofs, and privacy-focused networks that break the visible link between the sender and receiver.
The system offers faster, cheaper, and global payments compared to traditional banking. Still, it comes with risks such as regulatory compliance, reliance on third parties, and potential price volatility if non-stable assets are used.
Encrypted transactions address blockchain transparency limits
Public blockchains are designed for transparency, allowing anyone to view wallet balances and transaction details. While this strengthens trust, it creates a major barrier for payroll adoption, where salary privacy is essential. PayrollGuard addresses this issue by using encrypted tokens that conceal payment amounts while still enabling on-chain transaction verification.
The system converts standard stablecoins into confidential tokens, enabling employers to process salary payments without revealing figures publicly. Even as transactions are recorded on the blockchain, the underlying data remains encrypted and inaccessible to unauthorized parties. This approach allows businesses to maintain privacy while benefiting from blockchain efficiency.
Fully homomorphic encryption powers secure payroll processing
At the core of PayrollGuard is Fully Homomorphic Encryption, a cryptographic method that allows computations to be performed on encrypted data. Using this technology, the platform calculates salaries, tax deductions, and net payments directly on-chain without exposing the actual values.
Employees can decrypt their own payment details, while employers can access aggregated payroll data for reporting. The system also supports bulk onboarding, automated payroll execution, and integration with traditional tools such as contract management and fiat off-ramps.
The development highlights a broader shift in blockchain infrastructure, where privacy-focused solutions are emerging to support real-world business use cases. By combining encryption with decentralized systems, PayrollGuard demonstrates how companies can adopt blockchain-based payroll without compromising confidentiality.
In another payments application news, zPayy is being developed to enable confidential financial transactions on public blockchains, addressing long-standing concerns about transparency and data exposure in crypto networks.

Hurricane Approaches the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, Shutting Down a Quarter of Oil Production and Pushing Oil Prices Higher
About 512,000 barrels per day of oil production in the Gulf of Mexico have already shut down, accounting for 25% of the region’s total output, and 16% of natural gas production has been suspended. Companies such as Shell and Chevron have evacuated non-essential personnel. It is estimated that roughly 2.7 million barrels per day, or 14% of the US refining capacity, are located within or near the projected hurricane path. Currently, crude oil and refined product prices are elevated, and US refineries are operating at full capacity to fill the gap. Mizuho Securities warns that if US refining capacity is forced offline, the consequences "will be catastrophic."
