Trump Warns of Additional Attacks on Iran’s Kharg Island
US President Donald Trump has issued a warning of potential new military actions targeting Iran’s vital Kharg Island oil terminal. He also called on allied nations to deploy naval forces to help secure the Strait of Hormuz, as tensions with Tehran continued to escalate and the conflict showed no signs of resolution as of Sunday, March 15.
According to Trump, recent US operations had already caused significant destruction to much of Kharg Island. He told NBC News that further strikes could be launched, stating, “We may hit it a few more times just for fun.” While Trump noted that Iran seemed open to negotiating an end to hostilities, he insisted that the current proposals were not yet acceptable.
These remarks represent a notable increase in the president’s confrontational language, signaling a deepening standoff between the US and Iran.
