Week Preview: Eight G10 Central Banks Convene, Possibly Only One Acts
Global Investment Outlook Shaped by Middle East Conflict
The ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to heavily influence global investment sentiment, with inflation concerns taking center stage. This has led to significant shifts in expectations regarding central bank actions throughout the year. Japan stands out as an exception, as swap markets still anticipate nearly two rate increases before year-end.
Looking ahead, eight of the G10 central banks are scheduled to meet in the coming week. However, it appears likely that only Australia may alter its policy, with futures markets pricing in about a 53% probability of a rate hike. The remaining central banks are expected to maintain their current stances, potentially adopting a more hawkish tone. The Federal Reserve, in particular, may refine its messaging in response to recent events.
