The Strait of Hormuz, which links the Persian Gulf to international waters, is responsible for transporting roughly 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas. According to Richard Masson, former CEO in the energy sector, “This situation has completely altered our perception of risk and the origins of oil and natural gas.”
