NFP Outlook: Why Employment Data May Continue to Spark Market Swings Even with Attention on Iran
Key Economic Updates Amid Middle East Tensions
While recent events in the Middle East have captured much of traders' attention, it's important not to overlook major economic data releases—especially the highly anticipated jobs report from the United States, the world's largest economy. The previous month saw the US labor market outperform expectations: January added 130,000 new jobs, unemployment dipped to 4.3%, and average hourly wages climbed by 0.4% month-over-month. However, forecasts for February suggest a return to the more subdued hiring trends that have defined the past year, with both hiring and layoffs remaining relatively low.
