CDW Exceeds Expectations in Q4 Earnings, Strong Demand for IT Solutions

CDW reported fourth-quarter sales and earnings that exceeded market expectations on Wednesday, driven by customers’ continued increased investment in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technology applications.
Shares of the Illinois-based company in Vernon Hills rose 5.8% in pre-market trading.
Despite tighter budgets, customers continue to prioritize spending on core projects such as cybersecurity and cloud migration, benefiting this IT solutions provider. Security, reliability, and business continuity have become core considerations for enterprises.
CDW CFO Albert Miralles said: "Although customers are still facing an uncertain business environment, our ability to deliver results across hardware, software, and full lifecycle services enabled us to achieve strong gross profit growth and margin improvement."
CDW's extensive product portfolio and coverage of various customer groups have supported its stellar performance. Healthcare and commercial clients continue to increase investment, while the growing adoption of cloud solutions and AI workflows has fueled growth among small business clients.
According to data compiled by London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), the company achieved net sales of $5.51 billion in the quarter ending December 31, surpassing analysts’ average estimate of $5.29 billion.
The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $2.57, also above analysts’ expectations of $2.44.
