According to a report by Bijie Network: BitMine CEO Tom Lee pointed out on CNBC that the rise in gold prices is driven by a weak US dollar, strong global demand, and investor uncertainty, while cryptocurrencies have been "disappointing" and have yet to recover from the crash in 2025. He observed that when gold prices peak and then fall back (for example, recently dropping about 13% from around $5,600), investor funds have historically shifted to bitcoin. He cited that after similar slowdowns in gold prices, bitcoin surged nearly 1000% in 2017 and about 400% in 2021.
