Zcash Foundation Announces 2026 Strategic Priorities: Zebra, FROST, and Privacy Protection Assistance Program
Odaily reported that the Zcash Foundation has released its strategic priorities for 2026, which include:
1. The only consensus node implementation, Zebra: The focus will be on improving performance, completing the implementation of NU7 ZIP, and advancing the Z3 technology stack to replace zcashd;
2. Continuing to advance the FROST threshold signature scheme: Plans include releasing version v3, finalizing ZIP-312, and introducing the Distributed Key Generation (DKG) protocol;
3. Privacy Protection Assistance Program: Promoting a “privacy by default” digital cash assistance model and exploring zero-knowledge proof-based identity solutions, aiming to balance compliance, accountability, and privacy protection.
In addition, the Zcash Foundation stated that it plans to hold three major events in 2026: Zcomm (online) on March 24, the Zcash Dev Summit in Rome, Italy on May 8 (UTC+8), and Zcon7 in Cancun, Mexico from October 27 to 29 (UTC+8).
