According to a report by Bijie Network: Bitcoin Depot, a major cryptocurrency ATM operator in the United States with over 25,000 ATMs, will pay $1.9 million to the state of Maine to compensate residents who were defrauded through its machines. This settlement does not involve any admission of wrongdoing and highlights the surge in bitcoin ATM scams. Statistics show that in 2025, losses in the United States caused by irreversible transactions exceeded $330 million. The company is also facing another legal challenge in Iowa.
