According to a report by Bijie Network: Wave Digital Assets has formally requested the Office of the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate the U.S. Marshals Service's management of seized cryptocurrencies, accusing it of illegally transferring more than $40 million from government wallets. The company had participated in the recent procurement process of the U.S. Marshals Service and received the highest evaluation score. Wave believes that despite its own proposal involving SEC-registered regulatory agencies and the federally chartered custodian BitGo, the contract was still improperly awarded to an unregulated entity. Wave is currently filing a lawsuit, with the complaint focusing on ongoing transparency issues and unresolved audit findings from 2022.
