Glonghui January 20|According to Jiemian, on January 19, global memory giant SK Hynix announced that it will grant each employee an average performance bonus exceeding 136 million KRW (approximately 640,000 RMB), setting a record high since the company’s founding. The key reason employees are able to receive such a huge bonus is that in September last year, SK Hynix reached a historic labor agreement with the union, abolishing the previous cap of “profit sharing bonus (PS) not exceeding 10 times the basic salary” and changing it to include 10% of annual operating profit into the bonus pool. The core support for these massive bonuses is the company’s outstanding performance. According to SK Hynix’s Q3 2025 financial report, its sales reached 24.45 trillion KRW, up 10% quarter-on-quarter and 39% year-on-year; operating profit was 11.38 trillion KRW, up 24% quarter-on-quarter and 62% year-on-year; the profit margin soared to 47%, hitting a historic peak. Over the past year, the global memory market has experienced unprecedented volatility. Since July 2025, DDR5 memory prices have surged by over 300%, the price of high-end server memory modules has approached 50,000 RMB per unit, and the price of HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) has even exceeded $5,000 per chip.
