The International Monetary Fund expects global economic growth to remain at 3.3% this year.
PANews, January 19 — According to Jinse Finance, the International Monetary Fund released its World Economic Outlook in Brussels, Belgium, on January 19 local time. The organization believes that despite trade disruptions and rising uncertainties led by the United States, the global economy still demonstrates a certain degree of resilience. It is expected that the global economic growth rate will remain at 3.3% in 2026, an upward revision of 0.2 percentage points compared to the forecast in October last year, mainly due to improved performance in economies such as the United States and China. The report points out that investment growth in information technology driven by artificial intelligence is becoming an important driving force supporting the global economy. Growth in 2027 will be 3.2%, unchanged from the October forecast. In addition, the report raises China's economic growth rate for 2025 by 0.2 percentage points to 5%, and also raises the growth forecast for China in 2026.
