"1011 Insider Whale" Agent: Controllable Inflation and DeFi Utility Support May Give ETH the Foundation for Monetary Attributes
According to Odaily, "1011 Insider Whale" agent Garrett Jin stated on the X platform that while people refer to bitcoin as "digital gold" and a potential currency, ethereum can also serve as a currency. The argument that "inflation means it cannot be a currency" does not hold, because an economy needs an expanding money supply to match GDP growth. A completely closed monetary system would allow early holders to passively gain all the benefits, while new contributors would be permanently excluded, which is no different from a dictatorship hoarding wealth. ETH currently has an inflation rate of about 0.8%, which is a controllable inflation. With moderate inflation and real utility (DeFi, stablecoins, L2), ETH can fully function as a currency. Only moderate inflation can dilute entrenched wealth over time, allow more everyday contributors to participate fairly, and drive healthy growth.
