Buffett warns: The risks posed by rapid AI development are no less than those of nuclear weapons

Glonghui, January 15|"Stock market legend" Warren Buffett has warned that the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) brings risks similar to a major geopolitical issue he has focused on for years—the creation and proliferation of nuclear weapons. In a two-hour interview aired Tuesday night on CNBC, he stated that even the most advanced AI leaders today do not truly understand where this technology will ultimately lead, and that this very uncertainty is extremely dangerous. This echoes his recent public comments on the AI revolution. At the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting in May 2024, he noted that while artificial intelligence contains enormous positive potential, it may also pose significant risks.
