Alleged Fake Powell Resignation Letter Circulates on Social Media
According to Jinse Finance, a so-called "resignation letter from Federal Reserve Chairman Powell" has recently been circulating on the social media platform X, stating that "Powell has decided to resign as Chairman of the Federal Reserve, effective July 22." U.S. financial media reporters, citing sources, said that the resignation letter circulating among some MAGA accounts is fake. Some netizens also pointed out that the letter shows obvious signs of being AI-generated, especially the Federal Reserve seal. Sandra Thompson, Director of the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency, commented, "I believe Powell will resign soon, but today is not that day." As of press time, there have been no significant fluctuations in the gold and silver markets.
