Foresight News reports, citing CoinDesk, that Volkswagen’s autonomous driving subsidiary ADMT is utilizing real-time map data from Bee Maps, a Solana ecosystem DePIN project by Hivemapper, to enhance its autonomous driving operations. Street-level images collected by Hivemapper cameras, contributed by Bee Maps participants, will be used to help validate Volkswagen’s autonomous driving technology and improve the curbside accuracy of automated pick-ups and drop-offs.

Bee Maps is built on the Hivemapper network, and its contributors receive cryptocurrency rewards. AI then processes the images to detect signage, construction zones, and closed lanes, ensuring the data remains up to date.
