Former DOGE Employee: Musk Had Reservations in Internal Meetings, DOGE May Stagnate After His Departure

On May 30, former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) employee Sahil Lavi told Reuters after his departure, "The core charm of this project is Musk himself." He predicted that DOGE employees would "gradually stop coming to work, just like kids joining a startup that will close down in four months."

Lavi also recalled in the interview that his only meeting with Musk was at an all-hands meeting in March, where he suggested open-sourcing part of the code and live-streaming the meeting. "Musk initially agreed to the live stream, then changed his mind saying 'it might need to be pre-recorded due to security risks,' but nothing came of it in the end."

Lavi was fired by DOGE in early May for giving an interview to Fast Company. (Jin10)
