Institutional Analysis: Trump's Tariff Policy Expected to Have a Moderate Impact on U.S. April PCE
Institutional analysis indicates that the market expects the U.S. core PCE price index for April, to be released next Friday, to rise by 0.1%, compared to being flat in March. Economists generally believe that although the impact of President Trump's tariffs on April's price data will be moderate, the effects of trade policy are expected to become more apparent as early as next month. Given the current job market shows no significant signs of deterioration, Federal Reserve officials are inclined to keep interest rates unchanged until the impact of trade policy adjustments is fully reflected in economic data.
