7 British gang members sentenced to prison for kidnapping cryptocurrency investors

The Manchester Court in the UK has passed judgement on 7 gang members who kidnapped and extorted cryptocurrency investors. These criminals repeatedly kidnapped, beat, and threatened their victims from January to November 2023, extorting a total of approximately £100,000 (about $124,000) in cryptocurrency. Among them, Jonathan Newns and David Povey were both sentenced to 20 years imprisonment while other members received sentences ranging from 13 years and 6 months to 2 years and 4 months.
