on December 27th, the exchange rate of the South Korean won against the US dollar broke through 1480 won per 1 US dollar in the Seoul foreign exchange market. Previously, the political turmoil in South Korea led to a continuous decline in the value of the won. On December 19th, in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the exchange rate of the won against the US dollar opened at 1453.0 won per 1 US dollar, setting the lowest exchange rate of the won against the US dollar since March 2009.
