On December 7, US President-elect Trump stated that the United States should not get involved in the Syrian conflict. Syrian anti-government forces are threatening the government of Syrian President Assad. Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social: "Syria is a mess, but they're not our friends." Then he wrote in capital letters: "The U.S. should not interfere. This is not our fight. Let the situation develop on its own. Do not get involved!"
