Sky Joint Creation: USDS does not have a freezing function upon launch, the freezing process may be determined by a decentralized court
On September 4th, Rune, the co-founder of Sky (formerly Maker), stated that Sky's new stablecoin USDS might have a decentralized appeal process similar to a court as part of its freezing function. The USDS will not have a freezing function at launch, but if the management decides to add it, this feature can be upgraded. If this feature really goes live, users whose USDS are frozen can "use the power of decentralized governance to ensure due process and other matters" transparently. Rune said he is "unclear" when or whether the USDS freezing function will go live - but it requires "very careful legal, political and regulatory analysis and obviously also needs a very thorough design process completed by Sky's decentralized governing body."
