Bitcoin Mining Production Up 19% in June, Plans to Achieve 31 EH/s Arithmetic Scale by Year-End
Riot Platforms mined 255 BTC of bitcoin in June, a 19 percent increase from the previous month. Though the company mined only about half as many bitcoins as it did in the same period last year, which is in line with what was expected after the bitcoin halving event in April of this year. In its filing, Riot said it had exceeded its Q2 arithmetic goal of 21.4 EH/s, reaching 22.0 EH/s as of the end of the month.Riot also announced that it received a $6.2 million power subsidy from the Texas grid, a slight decrease from the previous month, and plans to achieve a total self-mining hashrate of 31 EH/s by the end of the year.
