The Eigen Foundation will distribute an additional $1,000 of EIGEN to token holders
According to Golden Finance, shortly after the community attacked the controversial airdrop behavior, the Eigen Foundation will airdrop about $1,000 of EIGEN to each of over 280,000 wallet holders. The Eigen Foundation stated in a post on X on Thursday that recipients from the first season will receive at least 110 EIGENs and those from the second season will receive 100 or more EIGENs. This comes amidst strong public opposition to the EIGEN airdrop plan (including provisions prohibiting claimants from cashing their allocations within a fixed period). In a blog post published on Thursday, EigenLayer also clarified that investor tokens would start vesting once token transferability begins. The post said that these tokens would unlock sometime after September 30th, 2024 when new features are launched on Eigenlayer's mainnet.
