Telegram CEO: Telegram usernames and anonymous numbers worth $350 million have been sold in the past 18 months
PANews reported on April 24 that Telegram CEO Patel Du Rove posted: “Technology blogger Pavel Fedorov sold his username @pavel on the Fragment auction platform and earned more than $80,000 in TON tokens as Telegram’s An early user, Fedorov got the username @pavel for free 9 years ago. After fierce bidding, @founder, a cryptocurrency entrepreneur with multiple Telegram accounts including @crypto, won the auction. The founder gifted the name @pavel to me earlier today.”
Du Rove said this shows how Telegram users benefit from direct ownership of their names. Telegram usernames and anonymous numbers worth $350 million have been sold in the past 18 months.
