Bank of England chief economist Peel: rates to fall as inflation progresses
Peel, the Bank of England's chief economist, said that interest rates will fall as inflation makes progress. Even after the rate cut, the level of interest rates will remain restrictive. There is still not enough confidence that progress in inflation will push rates down.
