Nexo seeks $3 billion in compensation from Bulgaria
According to Reuters, cryptocurrency lending institution Nexo has halted its investigation seeking $3 billion in compensation from Bulgarian authorities. As previously reported by BlockBeats, on December 26, 2023, the Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office concluded its investigation into allegations of money laundering against Nexo due to a lack of evidence related to criminal activities. The investigation into Nexo, which was exposed in January 2023, also involved suspected tax violations, unauthorized banking operations, and computer fraud primarily focused on four executives of the company: Kosta Kanchev, Antoni Trenchev, Kalin Metodiev, and Trayan Nikolov.
