Industry Insiders: SEC May Commence Issuing ETF Approval Notices from Friday, with Trading Potentially Starting Next Week
According to insiders, dedicated attorneys from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Trading and Markets Division met with officials from major exchanges (New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, and Chicago Board Options Exchange) on Wednesday. While a final decision has not been made, individuals familiar with the approval process suggest that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could start notifying issuers of approval as early as Friday, with trading potentially commencing as soon as next week. ETF analysts and issuers still believe that the SEC will make a favorable decision by January 10, as the SEC continues to engage with key stakeholders on this matter.
