04:25 PM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) after trade Wednesday said it reached financial close on a CA$100-million loan to Morguard (MRC.TO) to support energy-efficient retrofits across about 30 properties in Canada. Morguard will work with NERVA Energy to design and deliver the retrofit projects. The financing, along with an investment from Morguard and its investors through the newly established Morguard ReNew Fund, will support upgrades across residential and commercial properties, including retail, office and industrial buildings, the CIB said. "Upgrades are expected to include improvements to optimize building systems and mechanical equipment, along with low-carbon heating and hot water solutions," it added. The upgrades are projected to reduce annual emissions by about 35,246 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent while improving building performance and long-term operating efficiency, according to the statement.
