12:35 PM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- American Airlines Group (AAL) may need to cut capacity further in Q4 as high fuel prices continue to pressure the industry, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing Chief Executive Robert Isom. Isom said at a conference in California that if fuel prices remain at current levels, the company may need to adjust its capacity plans, the report added. Chief Financial Officer Devon May said the higher fuel prices are expected to add about $1 billion in costs in Q4, the report said. May also said the company plans to provide more details on its Q4 outlook when it reports earnings next month, the report added. American Airlines didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
