On Friday, lithium mining stocks generally rose, with Lithium Argentina (LAR.US) surging over 11%.
According to Jinse Finance APP, lithium mining stocks rose across the board on Friday. Lithium Argentina (LAR.US) surged over 11%, Sigma Lithium (SGML.US) rose nearly 9%, Albemarle (ALB.US) climbed 6%, Lithium Americas (LAC.US) jumped over 5%, Standard Lithium (SLI.US) and Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM.US) increased more than 4%. On August 20 local time, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced a total grant of $500 million to seven domestic critical minerals and battery industry chain projects, covering lithium extraction, cobalt refining, battery recycling, and advanced battery materials. The initiative aims to establish a domestic battery supply chain and reduce reliance on foreign minerals.
