Canada June retail sales grow 0.6%; seen down 0.8% in July

Aug 21 (Reuters) - Canadian retail sales grew by 0.6% in June from May at C$74.28 billion ($54.06 billion), on higher sales at general merchandise retailers, Statistics Canada said on Friday. Sales likely decreased 0.8% in July, the agency said in a flash estimate. In June, sales were up in seven of nine subsectors, representing 72.3% of retail sales. In volume terms, retail sales rose 1.5%.
