A History of Rapid Moves

XRP is no stranger to sudden, violent price action. In 2017, the token rose from roughly $0.006 to over $3 in a single year, a gain exceeding 50,000%. The final leg of that move saw XRP surge from $0.25 to above $3.30 in approximately six weeks.

The 2024 rally moved differently. Beginning in early November 2024, XRP climbed from below $0.60 to over $3 by January 2025. That was a gain of over 500% in a few weeks. XRP currently trades near $1, down over 70% from its July 2025 peak of $3.65.

Support From the XRP Army

The Catalysts Behind the Sentiment

The bullish sentiment has concrete support. A new XRP Ledger software upgrade is moving through voting by validators. It introduces batch transactions, confidential transfers, sponsored fees, and permission delegation. Activation occurs once validators reach consensus.

The CLARITY Act remains the single largest regulatory catalyst for XRP. A cloture vote is scheduled for September 15. The bill writes XRP’s commodity status into federal law and places it under CFTC oversight permanently. Institutional buyers, including pension funds and asset managers, have been waiting on that legal certainty before committing capital.

Ripple has also closed multiple major institutional partnerships in 2026 alone, including deals with Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, Mastercard’s $9 trillion payment network, and a recent breakthrough deal in Korea with Jeonbuk Bank. September brings the next major decision point for XRP. The community is watching, and many are excited for what the next few weeks hold for the digital asset.
