Target Has Further Runway, Analysts Say -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/19 23:061906 ET - Target has made progress in its turnaround so far, and has more runway ahead to improve its results, D.A. Davidson analysts say in a note. The company is blending the "art" and the "science" of retailing, returning to a merchandise-led organization to make it a shopping destination once again as it also improves its inventory management, supply chain, in-store execution and delivery strength, the analysts say. That's led to two consecutive quarters of solid comparable sales, they say. "We think there is plenty of room to go, both on the sales and profit, yielding higher earnings power," they say, raising their price target on the stock to $185 from $170. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
