US President Donald Trump made another noteworthy statement regarding the cryptocurrency sector, saying that US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins is working to bring Hyperliquid to the US market.
Trump’s statement comes after a meeting held today at the White House with leading figures from the cryptocurrency and finance sectors. The meeting included top regulators such as SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and CFTC Chairman Mike Selig, as well as various executives from the crypto industry. The Trump administration has recently been pursuing a more open regulatory policy towards digital assets, aiming to facilitate the sector’s operation in the U.S.
Hyperliquid operates as a high-performance Layer-1 blockchain network, particularly known for its decentralized perpetual futures market. Its HyperCore infrastructure houses order books for both perpetual and spot transactions, all running entirely on-chain. According to Hyperliquid’s official documentation, the network has the capacity to process approximately 200,000 orders per second.
Hyperliquid also operates with its own native token, $HYPE. $HYPE is used for network security, transaction fees, and various ecosystem functions. According to Hyperliquid’s official data, over $1 billion of the annualized fees generated from transaction activity on the platform are programmatically channeled into $HYPE buybacks.
