A survey of fund managers conducted by Bank of America shows that the Indian stock market has overtaken the Indonesian stock market to become the least favored stock market in Asia. This indicates growing caution among investors toward Indian equities, which have been one of the worst-performing markets globally this year. The survey reveals that the lack of clear AI exposure remains the primary concern facing the Indian stock market, while weak economic growth ranks as the second biggest risk. In the survey, 32% of respondents reported a net underweight position on Indian stocks. The lack of reforms and high valuations are also reasons why investors are bearish on Asia’s fourth-largest stock market. In contrast, investor sentiment toward Indonesia has improved, with only 27% of fund managers reporting a net underweight position on the market—down from 32% in July.
