It is reported that Google (GOOGL.US) plans to relocate its Pixel production line out of China by 2027.
According to reports, Google has informed its suppliers that the company plans to shift the production of all Pixel smartphones, smartwatches, and wireless earbuds out of China starting from 2027.
According to Jinse Finance, Google (GOOGL.US) has reportedly informed suppliers that the company plans to shift all production of Pixel smartphones, smartwatches, and wireless earbuds to regions outside of China starting in 2027. If the timeline proceeds as scheduled, Google will complete its plan to relocate the Pixel production line out of China before 2027, with Vietnam and India becoming its main manufacturing hubs.
This adjustment is part of Google’s broader supply chain diversification strategy, aiming to reduce exposure to geopolitical and trade risks related to China. Reports indicate this plan will make Google the second major smartphone manufacturer, after Samsung, to significantly move smartphone production out of China.
Sources added that Vietnam and India are gradually becoming key manufacturing centers. Google has previously succeeded in producing high-end Pixel smartphones in Vietnam, giving the management team more confidence in setting a timeline to complete the production shift by 2027. India is also emerging as an increasingly important manufacturing base for Google. The company is expanding local Pixel production in India, including the production of more advanced models.
Despite rising component costs, Google expects Pixel smartphone shipments to increase by 8% to 10% this year. In 2025, Pixel smartphone shipments are estimated to reach around 12 million units. Google has also integrated memory chip procurement for its cloud computing and smartphone businesses to address cost increases and strengthen its bargaining power with suppliers such as Micron Technology (MU.US), Samsung Electronics, and SK Hynix (SKHY.US).

Strategists warn: Gamma is extremely unstable! U.S. stocks with "ultra-low correlation" are facing the risk of violent shocks
This year, the low correlation in the U.S. stock market has been mainly driven by leading AI companies, but capital is shifting from semiconductor sectors towards lagging areas such as SaaS, narrowing the dispersion and weakening the foundation for low correlation. Bloomberg strategists warn that under abnormal Gamma volatility, a turn to negative could cause options dealers to reverse their hedging direction, amplifying market fluctuations. While the current index is less than 1% below its high, a 3% to 4% pullback could trigger a sharp Gamma reversal, putting the seemingly calm market at risk of dramatic volatility.
