Bitcoin has sharply retreated from the historical high of $126,000 set in 2025 and is currently fluctuating between $65,000 and $70,000, with a significant decline. Ethereum has also dropped more than 60% from its historical high of $4,950, at one point falling below the $2,000 mark. Altcoins have suffered even more severe sell-offs. Data shows as much as 38% of altcoins are trading near their historical lows, a proportion even higher than during the FTX collapse. Massive amounts of funds have exited high-risk altcoins and flocked to Bitcoin for safety, briefly pushing Bitcoin’s market dominance up to 56.5%.
